The “car tax” will be recovered from ANAF, by administrative way, without the need for court action.
From the date of the first car tax in 2007, several changes have been made regarding the tax formula and name. Therefore, according to the regulations in force at the time of the registration, a special demand for restitution can be done. The demands are for special tax for cars and vehicles, tax pollution for cars or tax for emissions from cars.
The recovery, by administrative way, decision was taken through government ordinance this week.
In order for the ordinance to be implemented, a procedure must be developed, procedure which needs to be approved through the order of the Minister of Environment, Water and Forests and the president of ANAF, within 45 days after the publication in the Official Gazette of the Government Ordinance.
Therefore, refund requests can be submitted only after the publication of the procedure in the Official Gazette.
